My daughter, Beth, was very interested in the pictures of the Gota Canal. Last year she had to do a school project on a fictional trip to Sweden. She wrote in her report that she visited the area near where her great, great grandfather came from “Day Four- Since I only had two days left, I crammed as much as I could into today. I took a boat down the Gota Canal, went biking and went to a museum near where my great, great grandfather used to live. When I first got to lake Vanern, the ferry was just about to leave. I bought my ticket and hopped on just in time! The boat went around Lake Vatern and in the canal to Lake Vanern. The foliage was absolutely beautiful! The trees looked like they were on fire with all the red and orange colors on them! When the boat stopped, there was a small bicycle rental shop. I decided that it would be so nice to ride around the beautiful lakes that I rented one and started off. I went along a part of the lake that I hadn’t seen and it was wonderful! The lake shimmered and shined in the sun, all of the bright trees’ colors reflecting off of it.” Beth was amazed that the pictures looked a lot like she imagined Sweden!
